Our vision

Our vision is an agricultural sector that is profitable, productive, and beneficial for our environment, nature, and health. We believe this can be achieved by replacing pesticides and synthetic fertilizers with microbial solutions.

Technology

Nature is full of microorganisms that play a crucial role for plants, animals, and humans. A single gram of soil can contain up to one billion bacteria spread across tens of thousands of different species. Most of them are harmless. Some are harmful and can cause disease. And then there are the beneficial ones — microorganisms that can produce essential nutrients, stimulate growth, or protect against harmful organisms.

These beneficial microorganisms hold enormous potential — if they can be identified and developed into usable products.

We have developed a unique, patent-protected method to find these beneficial microorganisms. The method is based on capturing them directly in nature using a 3D‑printed microbeTRAP™.

Workflow

At Nordic microbes, we transform beneficial microorganisms into effective solutions for agriculture. We do this by applying the latest advances in science and technology.

Innovation meets biology

We combine a holistic understanding of biology and farming with breakthroughs in microbiology, 3D printing, drone imaging, whole-genome sequencing, bioinformatics, and data analysis. We work with leading experts from various fields and collaborate with researchers and universities in Denmark and abroad.

Focus on quality and safety

In our laboratories, isolated microorganisms are characterised and sequenced to ensure they have the properties we seek and are safe for customers to use. We do not alter the microorganisms' genetics with GMO or NGT. Our products contain only natural ingredients and microorganisms already found in the soil.

Data-driven approach to field trials

Selected microorganisms are tested in field trials, with farmers, third-party trials and in growtents. We examine germination, root development, fungal pressure, growth rate, chlorophyll content, ground cover, yield, and nutrient content. This ensures that our products can deliver value to the farmer.

Conscious production

Our products are manufactured through fermentation in bioreactors. We focus on circular production, feeding our microorganisms with natural organic waste from the food industry, closing the loop. Quality control is paramount and before a product reaches the customer, quality and effectiveness are ensured through sequencing, bacterial staining, colony counting, and functional tests. We ensure traceability with a comprehensive batch registration system.

Strong customer relations

We sell our products to agricultural supply companies, seed producers, and directly to farmers. Our close collaboration with our customers allows us to continuously monitor the product's effect in the field and ensure it creates maximum value. We are committed to delivering solutions that work, and we are always ready to provide support and guidance to ensure the farmer's success.

Impact in everything we do

We work with a clear goal of making agriculture more sustainable. Our impact is measured by the value we create for farmers, our ability to increase food production without expanding farmland or increasing chemical use, and the amount of fertilizer and pesticides replaced by our solutions.
